Creative Synergy: Feminine Energy

Back when I was blocked with my writing (and secretly unsure if I wanted to continue writing), I was working on other personal goals.

One of those goals was to develop a greater connection to my feminine energy.

I won’t go into all the reasons that I decided to create that goal (because DRAMA!) but basically, I had become out of balance. I have a more analytical brain. Even in my writing, I loved editing more than drafting and love finding systems to make everything more structured. But going too far down that super logical/masculine road was no longer serving me—in a variety of areas.

So, I started reading books, watching youtube videos, and even took a course on developing a stronger connection to my feminine energy. Which turned out to have a lot of overlap with developing a stronger connection to my creative energy—the course even recommending the Artist’s Way as further reading on the subject.

Just look at this list Jillz Guerin shared as ways to increase your feminine energy! Almost every single one could be found in the Artist’s Way as a way to feed your creative process:

Along with writing morning pages and going on artist dates, the author of the Artist’s Way said to seek divine guidance for your creativity and look for these areas of synergy where God and the universe seemed to be coming together to give you the same message.

That’s what this was for me.

I had lots of reasons to want to strengthen my feminine energy, but I found that doing these things was also what I needed to kickstart my writing. It was everything coming together to say, yes, this is the direction you need to go for your next stage of development, and these are some of the steps you can take to get yourself started.
